Join Aarhus' big running party when BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half takes over the city. In this half marathon through the city streets, you will pass iconic landmarks and feel the energy of the city on a closed route filled with music, entertainment and cheering spectators.
Experience a race where you, as a runner, are carried through a city of entertainment, urban spaces and architecture, and not least by the fantastic support of the many spectators who turn up.
And as a spectator, you will also have a fantastic experience. Yes, even your pulse will rise when you feel the good atmosphere, see the many active runners and experience a city in celebration and colour.
21.097 kilometres of running sightseeing
The route leads through a completely closed-off Aarhus city centre with lots of runners sightseeing on the magical 21.097 kilometres. And as a runner, you will pass the best of Aarhus. The first iconic buildings will be ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Musikhuset and the Town Hall, which you can enjoy at a leisurely pace in the start and finish area. The route then takes you past Aarhus Cathedral, Dokk1 and Tivoli Friheden.
In other words, you will have to search long and hard to find a half marathon route that passes as many sights as the BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half.
Run with a friend
Do you have a friend, colleague or little brother who is running a half marathon and could use some support for the last 11 kilometres? Then you can sign up for Run With Me.
The distance is approximately 11 km and covers the last half of the route. The half marathon participant will ‘pick you up’ in a Run With Me zone after approximately 10 km, after which you will run together towards the finish line. This allows you to step in with fresh energy and give it your all with encouraging cheers and mental support when your running buddy needs it. And finally, you can share the thrill of victory when you cross the finish line together on Frederiks Allé, which will be packed with spectators.

- Distance: 21.097 km (half marathon) and 11.5 km (Run With Me)
- Start and finish: Rådhusparken and Musikhusparken, Aarhus C
- Route: Through the city centre – past ARoS, DOKK1 and the Cathedral, among other sights
- Entertainment: More than 60 music and cheer zones along the route
- Access: Walking distance from the train station and light rail – centrally located in Aarhus
- Traffic and access conditions:
- The city centre will be closed to traffic throughout the race
- Public transport may be rerouted – check Rejseplanen and Midttrafik for changes
- Arrive in good time – and feel free to use your bike or your legs
- Spectators: Welcome along the entire route – especially in the SPOT zones
- Number of participants: approx. 12,000 runners and 50,000 spectators.
