An artistic journey through 65 years of history

In Your Collection Favourites, ARoS opens up its collection with a fresh perspective on modern and contemporary art. The exhibition showcases works characterised by radical artistic experiments, where the ideals of classical painting are challenged and art becomes both political and abstract.

Pop Art, Nouveau Réalisme and Fluxus meet expressive Danish art from the 1980s, while younger contemporary voices create new dialogues with the classics.
Works by big names such as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Josef Beuys are presented side by side with Danish artists such as Per Kirkeby, Bjørn Nørgaard and Poul Gernes.

This collection invites reflection on the development of art through the decades – on the exchange of ideas, social structures and artistic freedom.
