A boundary from Denmark’s royal hunting history

Vildtbanestenen stands by Broengen north of Jyllinge on Zealand. Dating from 1775, the stone marked the southern boundary of an area where hunting rights belonged to the king. It probably remains in its original position beside the Værebro Å stream.

The inscription KAWP refers to a hunting boundary marker for Copenhagen County. This small stone is a reminder of how royal hunting rights once shaped the local landscape.
