Experiences on the routes by Rands Fjord

The beautiful scenery that you will experience on your way around Rands Fjord is varied and alternates between meadows along reeds and swamps and high slopes, open areas and woodland. These can be seen from the small trails and round trips starting from the car parks on Fagerlien and Fårbækvejen.

The trails take you through meadows and forests, passing a piece of natural forest and the house of the painter Anius. A red trail marking goes to the Bird Tower by the lake and the old diatomaceous earth pits.

Rands Fjord has a rich birdlife and is particularly known for its white-tailed eagles, which have settled in the area. At the end of Fagerlien is a bird tower where you can observe the eagles.

Try the different trails

The hiking trails vary in length, making them suitable for all levels. The trails require practical footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Rubber boots may also be necessary on some trails, depending on the season and weather conditions.

If you prefer a shorter walk, there is a 2.8 km hiking trail starting at the church in Egeskov. This trail crosses enclosures with grazing cattle.
