Few anglers find their way to the beach south of Fredmose, near Bovballe Forest. It’s a bit of a walk, and that tends to thin out the crowd. But the fishing spot, where the trees reach all the way down to the shoreline, is both charming and easily on par with the more popular locations along Langeland’s east coast.

On the way to Bovballe Forest, you pass the outlet from the marsh that gave the area its name. In winter, the freshwater can attract sea trout, but the best spots are generally found further south, where small headlands and coves offer varied fishing conditions. In summer, you might even encounter mullet – try using a small, bright green fly.
