Limfjorden Rundt in Nykøbing Mors – wooden ships, harbour atmosphere and life along the quay

When the wooden ships glide into the harbour of Nykøbing Mors, the atmosphere shifts.

The sails are lowered, the masts trace themselves against the sky, and along the quayside people gather to watch the arrival.

Around 65 wooden ships call at the harbour on 10 September

Nykøbing Mors is a port of call for Limfjorden Rundt – the largest wooden ship sailing event in the Nordic countries.

On 10 September, around 65 wooden ships moor at the quay, bringing together sailing, history and craftsmanship in one place.

The harbour is transformed into a marketplace with stalls and activities

On the day, the harbour area is transformed into a marketplace with stalls and activities.

Along the quay a lively atmosphere takes shape, where movement, trade and lingering are interwoven.

Veteran vehicles and maritime details create a shared sense of time

Local residents display veteran vehicles, which together with the wooden ships create a clear connection to the transport and craftsmanship of earlier eras.

Materials, forms and details echo one another across land and water.

Opportunity to go aboard the historic wooden ships

Between 15.00 and 17.00 there are open ships, where visitors can go on board and experience the layout and spaces of the vessels up close.

Town life with attractions, pedestrian street and culture at the centre

From the harbour it is a short distance to the centre of Nykøbing, with attractions such as Dueholm Monastery, the Danish Foundry Museum and Morsø Public Library.

The pedestrian street is full of life and shops, where the visit can continue.

Option to explore Mors by bike during the stay

Bicycles and e-bikes can be rented from VisitMors for those who wish to venture further and explore the rest of the island.

Thursday 10 September:
12.00: The marketplace opens.
14.00–17.00: The wooden ships arrive at the harbour.
15.00–17.00: Open ships.
16.00: Last ship expected to have arrived.
18.30: Party for the sailors in the tent.

Friday 11 September:
09.30: The ships sail on towards Fur.
