Verdenskortet (The World Map)
Experience the whole world in miniature, complete with lakes, rivers, mountains, and flags. Spread out like a living atlas, the World Map unfolds along the shores of Lake Klejtrup.

At the shores of Klejtrup Lake, you can set off on a world journey you will never forget – walking from Denmark to Spain, on to Australia and further across to the United States.
Experience the whole world in miniature, with lakes, rivers, mountains and national flags. Like an open atlas spread out in the landscape, the World Map lies beautifully at the edge of Klejtrup Lake. Here you are surrounded by birds, friendly farm animals, scenic nature and spacious play areas for children.
Enjoy a meal in the café or relax with your own picnic in the park. Take a small boat trip on the Pacific Ocean – a favourite activity for children. Explore the new nature playground with plenty of space for climbing, playing and discovering. You can also go on an exciting treasure hunt around the park or learn more about the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the new activity area called “The Green Corner.”
Did you know this about the World Map?
The World Map was created by the Danish-American immigrant Søren Poulsen between 1944 and 1969. The project began when he found a large stone shaped like the Danish peninsula of Jutland.
The map measures approximately 45 × 90 metres and shows the world in a remarkable scale: one degree of latitude – about 111 kilometres in reality – corresponds to 27 centimetres on the map.
To illustrate the correct distances between continents, the Northern Hemisphere is shown in two places, as it is difficult to represent a round globe on a flat surface. The Equator is marked with red poles.
