Sydkysthaven

At Sydkysthaven, Charlotte and Frederik grow a wide variety of vegetables as well as herbs, fruit and berries. Much of the work is done using hands-on methods, and their ambition is to contribute to an exciting food culture with produce grown close to the people who will eat it.

Sydkysthaven sells vegetables to private customers in Præstø and the surrounding area, as well as to several restaurants and canteens in South Zealand and Copenhagen. The garden also provides the setting for long-table dinners, workshops and garden tours.

Long-table dinners among the vegetables

At the long-table dinners, the meal is enjoyed right where many of the ingredients come from. The menu is based on vegetables harvested directly from the garden, supplemented by produce from other small-scale producers in the area. A chef creates the menu, which is served at long tables beneath the willow tree.

Small groups and companies can book a workshop in the garden, with time for both shared experiences and practical work with cultivation.

It is also possible to book a garden tour and get a closer look at the work at Sydkysthaven. Here, you can learn about everyday life growing vegetables on a smaller plot of land and get an insight into the work behind the production.
