The south of Mors
The fjord opens up, and small harbour environments, open meadows and historic traces merge into an experience that feels genuine.

Sydmors – harbour, history and the quiet life by the Limfjord
Sydmors is a place that doesn't make noise. Here you find calm in the quiet Limfjord landscape, where the water is always close and where life is lived at a pace that allows room for both presence and perspective.
It is here that the fjord opens up, and where small harbour environments, open meadows and historic traces merge into an experience that feels genuine.
Sillerslev – a harbour with history and life
In Sillerslev you'll find one of the most atmospheric harbour environments on Mors. Here leisure boats lie side by side with fishing vessels, and life along the quay is still part of everyday existence.
The harbour was established in the 1950s and 60s after years of effort by local fishermen who previously had to retrieve their catch directly from the shore.
Today Sillerslev is both a fishing harbour and a marina – and a place where history can still be felt.
Right next door you'll find one of the best bathing beaches on Mors – shallow, child-friendly and with views across the Limfjord.
Thissinghuse – trade, craftsmanship and enterprise
In the middle of this wonderful landscape lies Thissinghuse – a place where the story of enterprise and trade still hangs in the air.
Following the Freedom of Trade Act in 1857, an active shipping point emerged here with a merchant's house, brickworks, timber yard and small craft businesses.
Today the merchant's house stands as a testament to a time when life along the Limfjord was closely tied to trade and production.
The Lund farms – traces of manor life
South of Øster Assels you'll find the Lund farms – Peterslund, Nylund, Katrinelund and Gammellund.
Together they once formed the manor estate of Lund (now called Gammellund), which can be traced back to the 14th century. This heritage is physically visible at the old moated site that lies immediately alongside the current main building at Gammellund. The area breathes and holds a particular story about rural life through the ages.
In 1714 a faience factory was established here – the only one of its kind in Denmark outside Copenhagen. Although the factory existed for only ten years, it speaks of ambition and development in an area otherwise associated with calm and nature.
Nature and presence in Sydmors
What makes Sydmors special is not only the places – it is the atmosphere.
Here you'll find open landscapes, coastal meadows and views across the fjord, where the light shifts with the weather and the seasons.
It is a place where you walk without a destination. Where you stop. And where you feel why the Limfjord holds a special place in the hearts of those who know it.
