Ørsted Church
At Ørsted Church in Norddjursland, you’ll find medieval stone carvings, frescoes and a historic nave. Explore the church’s intricate details, then continue your visit in the Church Wood, which features sculptures and scenes from the Bible.

Art from the Middle Ages
At the northern entrance to Ørsted Church, you can see the granite portal by the stonemason Horder, depicting Christ and women from the Bible. The entrance was originally the church’s women’s entrance. Inside the church, you will find frescoes from the Lyngå workshop, which were uncovered by the National Museum in 1948.
Historical furnishings and the church ship Ann Wenden
Take note of the altarpiece from 1634 and the church’s oldest chandelier from 1588. Also, look up at the model ship ‘Ann Wenden’ from 1722. The model was donated to the church the following year and serves as a reminder of Ørsted’s connection to the sea.
Continue your visit in Kirkeskoven
