About the Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum Aarhus is Denmark’s second-largest natural history museum, measured by both the size of its collections and its exhibition space. Here, you can explore an impressive range of permanent and temporary exhibitions featuring more than 5,000 animals from around the world, many displayed in lifelike surroundings. The museum aims to promote biological and natural science research and make scientific findings in the field of natural history accessible to the public.

During the school holidays, the Natural History Museum offers special activities where children and adults can learn more about the natural world.

Exhibitions for children and adults

In Our Nature, you can follow the development of the Danish landscape, while The Global Backyard explores the Earth’s biodiversity. Expedition to Africa tells the story of the museum’s journey to East Africa, and in 99 Species you can search for Danish wildlife. The museum also features the art exhibition afterglow and the VR experience IMAGINE THIS.
