Madsby Activity Park – A free outdoor play paradise in the heart of Denmark!

Madsby Activity Park is a huge outdoor playground in Fredericia, packed with experiences for the whole family. With more than 400,000 visitors each year, it is the area’s largest tourist attraction for families with children – and it’s easy to see why! The park has been named “Denmark’s Most Fun Playground” by GoLittle and has received an “Excellent Play” certificate. Whether you’re planning a full-day trip or just a few hours of fun, Madsby Activity Park is the perfect choice.

What can you experience in Madsby Activity Park?

Looking for the best playgrounds in Fredericia? At Madsby Activity Park, you’ll find play areas and activities for all ages. Enjoy the large sand playground with swings, slides, and climbing frames, or visit the new Klods-Hans playground, especially suited for younger children and 100% accessible for wheelchairs. If you’re up for more action, try the mooncar track or the large climbing structure measuring 23x23 metres, with space for up to 225 children. Older kids can challenge each other on the Tarzan course – guaranteed fun and laughter!

You’ll also find a cosy mini zoo with Swedish mini pigs, goats, rabbits, birds, and more, where you can get close to the animals. Try the park’s 18-hole mini golf course or take a rowing trip on the large lake in one of the park’s boats – there’s truly something for everyone!

Mini golf costs DKK 50 per person (free for children under 3), and rowing costs DKK 50 per boat. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office in the centre of the park.

Take the Madsby train, visit the Historical Miniature Town and try the Detective Treasure Hunt

Hop on the Madsby train and explore the rest of Madsbyparken! Along the way, you can stop at the Historical Miniature Town, a fascinating miniature version of Fredericia as it looked in 1849, built to a 1:10 scale. A ticket costs DKK 35 for adults and DKK 25 for children aged 4–11, and entrance to the Mini-Town is included.

Practical information about Madsby Activity Park

Free entry and opening hours: Madsby Activity Park offers free entry and is open all year round. During the season from April to week 42, paid activities are open from 10:00–16:00 on weekdays and 10:00–18:00 on weekends. Find more information about opening hours here!
Parking: Parking costs DKK 12 per hour between 9:00–17:00, and with public transport nearby, the park is only 100 metres from Fredericia Station.
Food and drinks: If you get hungry, visit the Madsby kiosk offering fast food, sandwiches, drinks, and ice cream – or bring your own picnic. Tables, benches, and picnic shelters are available throughout the park.
Toilets: Toilet facilities with baby changing areas are available.
Accessibility: Madsby Activity Park is accessible, with disabled toilets, paved paths on the hills, and space for non-electric wheelchairs on the Madsby train.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and are not permitted in the sand play areas.

Celebrate a birthday or family event in Madsby Activity Park

Madsby Activity Park is a great place to host your next event. The park has four picnic shelters of different sizes, three of which can be rented for private events.

It is also possible to rent a grill for your event. Each grill has a capacity for 20–25 adults per hour. The price is DKK 105 per hour per grill, and a grill can be rented for a maximum of 2 hours. Contact Madsby Activity Park for more info.
