Kremse's Beech
Thorvald Krems (1898-1987) was a ranger under the enterprising state forester Jens Hvass (1898-1996). They were both very stubborn. The state forester wanted a beech tree felled, but Krems did not. In anger Hvass exclaimed: “In that case it will remain here forever and be named after you”. And it did.
The tree still stands here today, in Hesselholt Forest, a few hundred meters from the sinkhole Røverstuen.
