Hvidbjerg Plantation is a scenic natural area covering 43 hectares, known for its rich and diverse birdlife. It’s a perfect destination for nature lovers, hikers, and birdwatchers seeking peace and a close connection to nature. In the western part of the plantation, there is a hunting cabin that can be freely used by passersby – a cozy spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
At the heart of the plantation lies an artificial forest lake, which plays an important role in supporting local wildlife. The lake provides drinking water for birds and wild animals. Although the lake is privately owned and direct access is not permitted, visitors can enjoy a good view from the small bird observation platform north of the lake and from Rettrup Kærvej. These spots offer excellent opportunities to observe birdlife and take in the tranquil landscape.
Hvidbjerg Plantation is a great example of how nature and human design can coexist to support both recreation and biodiversity.
