Christmas exhibitions in the old historic houses
Step into the past and explore our old houses, which are decorated for Christmas. Several homes feature unique Christmas decorations. Discover how Christmas has been celebrated over the years and learn, for example, when the Advent wreath and Christmas tree became part of our traditions.

Traditional animal slaughtering
Our butchers demonstrate how pigs and sheep were slaughtered in the old days so the meat and other parts of the animals could be used for the Christmas dinner. Guests can get up close and experience the process of animal slaughtering.

Fur skinning of foxes and other animals
Our fox skinning demonstrations attract many children and adults. Here, you can experience and even try your hand at skinning. By prior arrangement, you can also bring your own legally hunted fox or raccoon dog to skin during one of the Christmas weekends. If you do your own skinning, you can also prepare it for tanning.

Christmas treats and atmosphere at the grocer and baker
Enjoy the finest Christmas treats at our baker and grocer, where the scent of caramelized sugar fills the air. Taste traditional Christmas goodies and get into the true Christmas spirit. Also, visit Restaurant Skyttegaarden, which will be open.

Take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage and steam train
Take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage or the steam train – and experience the museum and Christmas landscape in a magical way. An unforgettable journey for the whole family. Buy a wristband that gives access to both the horse-drawn carriage and steam train, as well as something delicious from the restaurant.
