Himmelsøen - The old gravel pit lake
Himmelsøen is a hidden natural gem surrounded by wild landscapes and beautiful views near Roskilde. Once a gravel pit, it is now a clear groundwater lake with inviting facilities and scenic walking trails. Visitors can swim, explore the paths around the lake and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Take a Safe Dip
The lake has a maximum depth of 11 metres and a 2-kilometre path encircling the water. A 140-metre floating bridge creates the unique sensation of walking on water. A sandy beach also invites visitors to take a refreshing swim in the clear lake.
