Walk through forest and bog with a view of the Limfjord, 5 km

The trip goes through forest and bog. At the northern part of the forest, you will discover a wonderful view of the Limfjorden of both Mors and Fur. Furthermore, from the southern part there is a lovely panorama view of Nordsalling's cultural landscape.

Halkhoved Plantage was established in the somewhat hilly terrain northeast of Glyngøre in the year of 1900 approximately. The plantation consists of a mix of hardwoods and conifers trees. The floor of the forest and fauna in the area is poor of diverse arts which often is seen in conifer-dominated areas.

Moreover, the windy exposed location on the edge of the Limfjord affects the growth conditions of trees and herbs. Trees are therefore, formed by the western windy condition that implies the trees never to grow very large. Moreover, the flora within in the plantation is tolerant of salt received from the fjord.

Halkhoved Plantage is privately owned, hence visit may only occur on roads and paths between 6.00 a.m. and sunset.

Part of the path goes through the plantation, which means it can be slippery during rainy periods of time.
