Cycle route: The Islands by Bike - 68 km
Go island hopping across three lovely islands: Femø, Fejø and Askø. Lolland's northern coastline borders the waters of Småland, with its many islands. The coast, the islands and the water are the setting for extraordinarily beautiful natural scenery.

On the cycling route "The Cycling Islands", you follow the northern coast of Lolland between Bandholm and Kragenæs, discovering three of the largest islands in the Småland Archipelago: Femø, Fejø and Askø.
From Kragenæs, ferries connect to Femø, Fejø and Askø, making it easy to combine several islands on the same cycling trip.
In addition to beautiful scenery, the three islands offer peace, tranquillity and idyllic surroundings. It is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the landscape and experience the relaxed pace of island life.
The mild island climate provides ideal conditions for growing apples, and the islands are well known for their production of apples, apple juice and cider. Spring is an especially beautiful time to visit, when the fruit trees are in blossom and colour the landscape.
Askø is the smallest of the three islands, and nowhere on the island is more than four metres above sea level. It is easy to explore by bike, with quiet roads, open landscapes and beautiful views across the Småland Archipelago.
Femø is the hilliest of the three islands and is best explored by bicycle or on foot along its winding roads and scenic trails.
Fejø is the largest island and is known as Denmark's fruit island. Orchards dominate the landscape, while local farm shops offer fresh seasonal produce.
Accommodation is available on all three islands, making it easy to divide the cycling route into several enjoyable stages.
The cycling route is one of Naturlandet's 20 local experience routes and is marked with the ferry symbol. You can start your trip in either Bandholm or Kragenæs. Ferries from Kragenæs serve all three islands, while Bandholm remains an ideal starting point for cycling along Lolland's northern coastline. The map below shows the route starting from Kragenæs.
