Bavelse Kirke is beautifully situated at Bavelse Sø (The lake Bavelse), and the manor Bavelse is the only neighbour.

The altarpiece is carved work from c. 1600, and there is a escutcheon for Corfitz Ulfeldt to Bavelse and for Elisabeth Brochenhuus to Egeskov.
