THE CONCERT AT KYLLINGEMODEREN AND MUSIKHUZET IS SOLD OUT. TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR 10 SEPTEMBER IN ALLINGE – BORNHOLM'S SPORTS AND CULTURAL CENTRE.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Udenfor Sæsonen, meet one of Denmark's greatest songwriters, Sebastian. Few artists have moved as freely between genres: from musicals such as Treasure Island, Ronia the Robber's Daughter and Hodja from Pjort, and the play The Nightingale, to timeless pop songs including Full of the Night's Stars and Calm Before the Storm. Sebastian remains a vital artist and continues to tour, including songs from his album The Upside-Down World.
The anniversary also presents three young talents with roots on Bornholm: singer, songwriter and trumpeter Lea Backhausen from Melsted; singer and songwriter Rebecca Noreen from Rønne; and saxophonist and composer Søren Høst from Gudhjem. Opera singer Josefine Weber will perform works that we may not realise we know, but will most likely come to love.
The six soloists are accompanied by Fugato Brothers: Gustaf Ljunggren on guitar and more, Christoffer Møller on keyboards, Jeppe Gram on drums and Jeppe Skovbakke on bass. They work closely with Fugato Sisters, a classical string quartet comprising Cæcilie Balling, Karen Johanne Pedersen, Kirstine Elise Pedersen and Josefine Weber. Both ensembles are driven by curiosity and a willingness to take risks, with artistic quality at the centre.
When Sebastian takes the stage in 2026, he brings a catalogue of songs that has become part of Denmark's shared cultural heritage. Audiences can look forward to classics including When the Light Breaks Through, Maybe We Could, You Are Not Alone, The Butterfly, The Anemone Song, Spring Song, Calm Before the Storm, The Wind's Forgotten Songs and Little Heart Song.
Lea Backhausen is 22 and grew up in Melsted on Bornholm. She attended the music programme at Campus Bornholm and studies jazz at Skurups Folkhögskola in Sweden. After the summer, she will begin at the Danish National Academy of Music in Odense. She performs with, among others, the jazz/neo-soul band Venya and as a substitute musician in the pop/rock band Ulige Numre.
Søren Høst is known for his warm, personal saxophone playing. He has worked across jazz, pop and blues, studied music in Sweden and New York, and now lives in Copenhagen. His music is particularly inspired by the grand and physical aesthetics of the swing era.
Rebecca Noreen is a 20-year-old Bornholm artist working in indie folk and pop. Her songs describe life as a young person, from euphoric love to major challenges and everyday thoughts. Following a stay at The Rhythmic Folk High School, she moved to Copenhagen to explore the opportunities open to a young musician.
Udenfor Sæsonen is produced by SPOT Festival in collaboration with Musikhuzet Bornholm.
