Denmark's biggest cycle race on Langeland

On Saturday 1 August 20226, the square in Rudkøbing town centre will be transformed into a cycling festival when the fourth stage of the PostNord Danmark Rundt race gets underway from Langeland. Around 150 professional riders – support vehicles, cheering crowds and a classic race atmosphere – will create a very special experience in the town before the field continues on the roads of Langeland.

Beautiful loop and strong cycling focus

Stage 4 offers a scenic loop on Langeland with a route that takes in both the Lindelse area and Tranekær. The field will also enjoy a special start with a tour through Rudkøbing's cobbled streets before the race really gets underway on the country road south of the town.

The visit from PostNord Danmark Rundt comes on top of several years of focus on cycling and cycle tourism on the island. A large part of the Funen Manor Route runs on Langeland, and the island will also be the first place where the new signs for Denmark's recreational cycle network will be put up. This means that as a regular cyclist, you can look forward to many peaceful kilometres of cycle paths, often with minimal car traffic.

After the loop on Langeland, the route continues over the Langeland Bridge to Tåsinge and on over the Svendborg Sound Bridge to Funen.

• Stage 4 covers 72.6 km on Langeland, starting in Rudkøbing
• Loop down around Lindelse and up around Tranekær
• Initial tour of Rudkøbing before the race starts from the country road east of the town
• Two Skoda Sprinters in Rudkøbing
