Kasmose Forest
Kasmose Forest grows on steep slopes, which consist partly of plastic clay.
In several places, there are large landslides where entire parts of the forest have slid down towards the sea. Kasmose Forest was designated as untouched forest in 1993, but has in practice remained untouched since 1981, when the last thinning took place. Here you can walk along forest trails and experience a great variety of animals and plants rarely seen elsewhere.
In Kasmose Forest, two facility zones have been established – one around the parking area and another on a smaller area in the middle of the forest. The rest is designated as a quiet zone to support the tranquil nature experience in the varied and lush forest and because large organized events are not desired in the area.
