An installation and workshop by the Scottish company Two Destination Language about hope, hopefulness, hopelessness and what we hope the future will bring. Artists Kat and Alister will be based at Hodda on Rønne Square from 4 to 12 September, 3–5 pm. Visitors are invited to contribute sentences about hope, bring used textile materials or sew together with the artists to create colourful banners.

Previously made banners will be displayed at Hodda, while new ones will be added throughout the project. A reception and celebration of all the works takes place on 12 September at 2 pm. All materials have had a previous life and are reused: bring your own or use the materials provided.

The work occupies only a small part of the physical space, yet fills it with the sound of hopeful activity and activates an artwork that is constantly alive and changing. Contributions become part of a growing installation that flows through – and possibly beyond – the building it inhabits.

The project is complemented by ongoing screenings of a film featuring reflections from the artists, including Ukrainian artist Nadia Solonenko's perspective from a war zone, as well as a journey to the hardy ponies at the “end of the world” on the northern Scottish Shetland Islands. Hope and Ponies was originally started during a residency at BIRCA and now returns to Bornholm in collaboration with Hodda in Rønne.
