Lysen Bredning and Harrevig – diverse fishing and rich nature

This area is best known for excellent winter fishing, but offers great opportunities year-round. Lysen Bredning and Harrevig are separated by two headlands – Sesterodde from the north and Hjerk Odde from the south – with only 300 meters between them. Freshwater inflows enhance fishing conditions, and the deep water and reefs make Langerodde, Sterodde, and Hjerk Odde popular spots. The seabed is varied with stones, soft bottom, eelgrass, and seaweed. At low tide, you can wade to the peninsula Hjortholm.
The area is well sheltered from wind, but sensitive to strong westerly winds. In summer, mullets often enter Harrevig.
You can also collect mussels and oysters – and possibly find flint tools from the Stone Age.
Note: Several full and partial seasonal fishing restrictions.
