Dunkel - Refrakto - Den Sorte Skole & Vertigo
Experience REFRAKTO - a spectacular meeting between sound, light and space, when Den Sorte Skole and Vertigo take over Musikhuset Esbjerg as part of the Dunkel festival.

Drawing on musical traditions from around the world, Den Sorte Skole and Vertigo create a universe where voices, rituals and sounds grow out of the darkness and merge into a hypnotic whole.
The music is created from samples and recordings of religious and spiritual musical traditions from around the world - from ritual ceremonies and Gregorian choirs to Sufi chant, Arabic vocal traditions and experimental electronic soundscapes.
Through Den Sorte Skole's characteristic collage aesthetic, these widely different expressions merge into a new common musical language.
At the same time, the concert hall is transformed by Vertigo's impressive lighting design and visual scenography, enveloping the audience in a living landscape of colors, reflections and movement. The result is a sensory total experience that challenges the boundaries between concert, installation and performance.
REFRAKTO is not a concert in the traditional sense, but a journey through sound and light - a work that opens up for both immersion and reflection, and examines the human search for meaning, community and spirituality across cultures and historical boundaries.
Den Sorte Skole and Vertigo have performed REFRAKTO in churches and concert halls all over the world, and this is a rare opportunity to experience the work in Denmark.
