Mother's Day at Von Lügenhals
Treat your mum to a lot of fun in our imperial surroundings. Here at Von Lügenhals on Sunday the 11th of May from 11:00 - 15:00 you can invite your mum for lunch or a 3-course menu from 17:00 - 21:00
Here at the inn, we're particularly fond of Mother's Day. It was Anna Jensen, the woman Karl von Lügenhals was madly in love with, who came up with the idea for Mother's Day. Anna came up with the idea for the famous ‘Mother's Day’ plates with blue decoration - on which she served her mother's favourite dishes. The work to spread the day took off. Eventually, the day became popular in Varde, and with more effort, the day was also recognised in other cities and countries.
As the years went by, however, she became opposed to the way Mother's Day was developing. She didn't like the idea of sending printed cards and flowers - instead, she wanted to socialise and serve good food! Exactly as the day was intended
Come and treat your mum on Mother's Day at Von Lügenhals on the 11th of May.
