Author talk with Jesper Bugge Kold
Jesper Bugge Kold visits Langeland Library Thursday, 27 November with a lively and thought-provoking lecture on the journey of Danish emigrants to America in the 19th century. Inspired by his critically acclaimed novels and his family's own emigration letters, he invites the audience on a personal and historical journey carried by hope, dreams and necessity.
The lecture is based on the novels ‘Hvor vinden vender’ (Where the Wind Turns) and the latest ‘Hvor ilden brænder’ (Where the Fire Burns), and offers both facts and stories from the great emigration period – when 300,000 Danes left everything they knew in search of a better life.
