Danish Camping Sites

Playground on a Danish camping siteDenmark's approx. 500 approved camping sites cater for any camper's requirements. Most sites are situated in lovely sceneries, 85% close to the sea with fine bathing possibilities. The sites are rated from 1 to 5 stars. An efficient control ensures that the facilities of the site correspond to the bestowed classification. Public regulations see to it that the laying-out and the running of the sites make allowance for the surroundings and that the site answers its purpose, viz. holiday and leisure purposes. This is especially important for tourists, as this regulation prevents the site from being totally occupied by stationary guests. Some sites are reserved for stationary caravans/tents without pitches for tourist. The approved sites must have the sign of approval placed at the entry and fly the green pennant of approval of the Danish Camping Board, depicting the stylized tipi-shaped tent.

The majority of Danish camping sites are only open during the summer months. Some 180 sites are open throughout the year, most of these require advance booking.
