Limfjorden – a world of its own
These days, Limfjorden is not even a fjord. It is the channel that cuts through Jutland and separates the North Jutlandic island of Vendsyssel and Thy from continental Jutland. And what a channel it is!

To the east flows the long, narrow inlet from Kattegat through Langerak, which can almost be characterised as a river; in the middle, the enormous broads with enough room for a beautiful cruise; to the west, the straits between Thy and the island of Mors and ultimately the outlet to the North Sea through Thyborøn Canal. And along the way, you also find lots of twisting inlets, almost 100 islands and the breathtaking landscape, no matter where you turn your head. In short: 100 nautical miles of wonderful Danish nature - on land and at sea.
Round Mors, the pearl of Limfjorden The heart of Limfjorden is the area around the beautiful island of Mors which in certain areas almost appears mountaneous with its soft moraine landscape.
Yachters are pleasantly surprised by the many wonderful mooring places which invite to quiet moments in the glow of the sunset. Experience the cosy small AND harbours with culinary experiences based on the motto ”from fjord to table” featuring everything that is good from the sea in the many exciting restaurants that the area is known for.
One of the most exciting sailing waters The Danish TV journalist Preben Heide is one of many who loves sailing on Limfjorden. According to him, Limfjorden is "one of the most exciting sailing waters with an expanse of mooring places, nice, cheap harbours and people who have not yet substituted natural helpfullness with a money fixated service”.
